It is important to us at Beyond Volunteering that the information we collect and have about you is protected, secure, and private. We value your privacy and are committed to preserving it.
1. The Information We Collect
For each visitor to our website, our web server does not recognize information regarding email address. Instead, we collect personal information by means of the visitors who submit their information through our forms (information inquiry and contact) and Volunteer Profile as part of our customer service and volunteer placement process.
Email: We maintain an internal email list of everyone who has requested information, enrolled in our programs, or made an online payment. We may use this list to send occasional updates and announcements about Beyond Volunteering’s upcoming programs, contests, and so on. If you do not wish to be part of this mailing list, you may choose to do so at any time and we will remove you immediately. We process these requests by email at info@beyondvolunteering.com. Please note that necessary emails for enrolled volunteers will still be sent before, during, and after the volunteer program.
Phone: Individuals who provide us with their telephone numbers will receive telephone contact from us responding to requests for more information, a transaction, etc. These include general inquiries, enrollment, payment, and so on. We DO NOT make unsolicited phone calls.
2. Your Information is Private
The email list we maintain is for internal use ONLY and will not be sold, rented, or exchanged with any other company. We only provide email information to the volunteer organizations where the volunteers will be only if requested. Volunteers may opt for organizations not to have access to their email information; to do so contact us at info@beyondvolunteering.com.
We do not share any personal information about our volunteers (prospective, former, current) or organizations with anyone outside of Beyond Volunteering without their knowledge and permission, unless required by law.
Personal information of enrolled volunteers, as provided in their Volunteer Profile, is shared with our Partner Organizations for the volunteer placement process.
3. We Protect All Your Information
We have appropriate security measures in place to protect against the misuse of information that we have collected from you.
All confidential information sent via our website (such as credit card numbers) uses the Internet security protocol known as "Secure Sockets Layer" or "SSL." This is a certification and encryption technology designed to make using your credit card as safe as possible on the Internet. Beyond Volunteering does not save credit card numbers and no one at Beyond Volunteering has access to your entire credit card number, only the last four digits for identification purposes.
4. Cookies
We use "cookies" to monitor how people use our website, recording only the information related to Beyond Volunteering. A cookie cannot alter your computer, computer files, or software in any way - it is information that is stored on your computer's hard drive which records how you have used the Beyond Volunteering website. If you do not wish to enable cookies, you can change your browser settings.
5. Access Your Personal Information
If you would like access to the personal information Beyond Volunteering has about you, we are happy to share this with you. This includes transaction information (dates of payments, amounts, types of payment, etc.), your correspondence with Beyond Volunteering, and contact information.
